The Smith Mountain Lake Fireworks and Fire Company Fundraiser is not affiliated with the no-wake promotions, the organization promoting no-wake, or any other event occuring on the lake. We respectfully request that you do not emphasize the no-wake promotions over the promotions of the SML Fireworks and Fire Company Fundraiser. As noted in the press release below, fundraising for this popular event has been very difficult. It has been our experience that previous years' no-wake promotions have overwhelmed our promotions of the event as a fundraiser, making our efforts to promote this event as a fundraiser that much more difficult.
